An Alchemy of Tradition and Reinvention

Born on May 12, 1994, in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Francys grew up surrounded by the exuberant nature and striking contrasts of her native country. In an environment where life intertwines with rebellion and everyday poetry, she found an early refuge in art as a universal language. As a teenager, she joined the cadets of the Venezuelan army, discovering a discipline that would later structure her artistic approach; music, meanwhile, provided the initial spark of a multifaceted vocation.

At the age of 21, Francys moved to France, bringing with her the colors, rhythms, and mysteries of her homeland. It was there that she turned to painting, a revelation that quickly became a vital necessity. For over a decade, her artistic practice—as instinctive as it is deliberate—has drawn inspiration from esotericism, shamanism, and the symbolic power of nature. Her works, where life and death, light and shadow converge, are driven by an energy that is both lyrical and combative. Each canvas, each performance, is a tribute to resilience, a celebration of the feminine condition, and an exploration of the invisible forces that animate existence.

Committed to the defense of women's rights, Francys uses her art to question patriarchal legacies and contemporary struggles. Her style, in constant evolution, defies categories and expectations, blending movement, texture, and color into a bold harmony.

For the past year, Francys has dedicated part of her work to an in-depth research project on Venezuelan artists, exploring the links between tradition and modernity, collective memory and individual creation. This project, enriched by encounters and archives, aims to highlight the richness and diversity of the Venezuelan art scene while carving out her own place within it.

Exhibited in France and across Europe, Francys is establishing herself as a compelling figure in contemporary South American art, carrying a message that is both universal and deeply rooted in her origins.
